We're so happy to have you here and hope this little space becomes your place to slow down, breathe out, and enjoy the simple things.
This is a working farm — you'll likely hear the chickens, spot the sheep, and if you're lucky, catch sight of the elephants and zebra just beyond the fence. It's something special, and we never quite get used to it ourselves.
We've put together this guide to help you settle in, find your way around, and make the most of your stay.
Elephant View is a spacious, private ground-floor stay on our working farm, designed for comfort, relaxation, and a connection to nature. While the home is double-storey, your space is entirely self-contained with its own entrance, garden, and no shared areas — giving you complete privacy throughout your stay.
From your deck, you'll often see elephants and zebra just beyond the fence, especially in the mornings as they begin their daily wander.
Elephant View has its own private gate (Silver Electric Gate) and entrance, along with dedicated off-street parking, so you can come and go with ease. We'll send you all the details before you arrive — just let us know if you need anything.
We hope you've had a wonderful stay. When you leave, please either leave the key in the door, or place it back in the lockbox. Drive safely… and don't forget to take a last look at the view.
All beds are fitted with luxurious down duvets, silky linen & extra-thick blankets for cosy evenings. You'll also find dressing gowns and sleep masks for added comfort. We also have a camping cot available if required.
Everything you need (plus more) whether you're making a quick breakfast or a full meal.
Outdoor living is a big part of the experience at Elephant View.
Hydrangea is a bright, single-level stay on our working farm, designed for relaxed, easy living. With its own private entrance, garden, and no shared spaces, you'll have complete privacy throughout your stay.
One of its standout features is the kitchen's stackable windows, which open fully onto the deck — creating a seamless indoor-outdoor space with uninterrupted views across the farm and into the Elephant Park.
Hydrangea has its own private gate (Red Electric Gate) and entrance, along with dedicated off-street parking, so you can come and go with ease. We'll send you all the details before you arrive.
When you leave, please either leave the key in the door, or place it back in the lockbox. Drive safely… and don't forget to take a last look at the view.

The stackable windows open directly onto the deck — perfect for serving meals outside and enjoying the view.
The electrical engineer and resident problem-solver — if it involves solar power, generators, or anything remotely technical, he's your man.
(that's me 👋) looks after the cottages, bakes the bread, and keeps everything ticking along behind the scenes.
Son and Farm Manager — in charge of just about everything outdoors: pigs, cows, sheep, maintenance, beekeeping… and he's also a volunteer firefighter. Somehow, he occasionally manages to sleep.
Iain's wife — our resident chicken whisperer, looking after hundreds of chickens and experimenting with some very exciting new breeds.
Our teenager, assists with farm life and has taken on the very important role of water system manager.
Our granddaughter — chief chicken assistant and a very conscientious student.
Max (German Shepherd) — mischievous youngster, always up to something! Ice (Swiss Shepherd) — calm, gentle, and incredibly sweet-natured. Both share a strong interest in collecting wood from around the farm (whether it's needed or not).
Daisy was the first to arrive from a neighbouring farm. Bobbi came along to keep her company — because no one should have to graze alone. No calves just yet… but we're very much on standby 👀
Protective of his ladies and not shy about it. He keeps a close eye on things and isn't afraid to let you know if you're not following the rules. Best admired from a distance.
Always entertaining, especially when there are piglets around. They may look cuddly, but they are not pets. Best enjoyed from a safe distance… preferably while watching their antics.
Pasture-raised and roaming freely — they're responsible for the fresh eggs in your welcome basket. Best enjoyed without trying to catch them — they're faster than they look.
Iain is the beekeeper — occasionally coming back covered in bees (all part of the job 😄). Best admired from a distance… they take their work very seriously.
There's always something happening in Plett — from markets and live music to festivals and sporting events.
